Monitoring Tool for FOI Legislation

As an increasing number of countries around the world adopt freedom of information (FOI) laws, the important task of monitoring and assessing whether governments are meeting international standards, even their own provisions promised by FOI legislation. Some researchers have done fruitful work. Lidberg wrote a thesis on evaluating the implementation of FOI laws. Open Society Justice Initiative also carried out a pilot project on monitoring FOI in five countries in 2004, then developed the project in 2006 which covered 14 countries.
